GEOGRAPHY

Well hello!  Today we did the following:

       1)  Watched a video & took a quiz on it.
       2)  Had a discussion about the video.
       3)  Wrote a poem about ourselves.

For the video, we watched a clip from a documentary on Hurricane Katrina and then took a quiz on it.  Click below to watch the video and then see Mr.K for the quiz questions when you return to class.  (Click here for Katrina video)

For our discussion, we discussed how the video relates to Geography and many of us (including myself) were surprised at how many ways we could relate the two!  We also discussed how geography affects US and "shapes us" into who we are today.

After this, we wrote a poem about ourselves and how our geography has affected us and made us who we are today.  This poem has a minimum of 10 lines and each line begins with "I Am From..."  This is an expression of where we come from and who we are based on people/places/things/etc that make up our person today.  No!  It does NOT have to rhyme!  :o)

WORLD HISTORY

Well hello! Today we did the following:

     1) Watched a video & took a quiz on it.
     2) Had a discussion about the video.
     3) Wrote a poem about ourselves.

For the video, we voted and chose ONE of TWO movie clips to watch.  First choice was a clip from a documentary on Hurricane Katrina, the second was from a famous old movie called "Fiddler on the Roof."  In this scene, a wedding party is happening and many crazy things begin to happen.  After the video, we took a quiz on it.  Click below to watch the video and then see Mr.K for the quiz questions when you return to class.
