Ni Hao, again! We're on our 2nd day studying Ancient China, and our Essential Questions for today were the following:
1) How important is family to Chinese?
2) What were social classes like in China?
3) How were women viewed and treated in ancient China?
4) How is religion practiced in China?
To do this, we watched a movie clip from The Joy Luck Club, a movie about Chinese families and friends living in California who tell stories of their lives back in China as children. We watched a very entertaining part of the movie today and then discussed what we watched, using a graphic organizer (below) to guide our discussion.
