Hello! Today we learned about the first dynasty of India - the Maurya Empire. The leader of the Maurya Empire was Chandragupta Maurya (see slides below)... he was not such a nice guy, and he was kinda paranoid, too... His successor was Emperor Ashoka (see slides below). Ashoka was also a powerful brute, but he soon became a Buddhist after a terrible battle at the city of Kalinga, during which many innocent people died.
