GEOGRAPHY:
Well hello there! So, today in geography, we had a little "change" in our usual routine. We started talking about yesterday's class about how humans interact with the environment in negative and positive ways. Then, there were so many questions about the people that live in some of these countries, that I started to show videos of unique groups of people around the world that are "under threat" of "extinction" or losing their cultures due to major environmental and cultural changes. To see one of the videos we watched today, please click below on the one dealing with "African Body Art"..... WARNING! NOT FOR THOSE WITH WEAK STOMACHS!!!!!
WORLD HISTORY:
Well hello there! So, today in world history, we finished Zoroastrianism and started discussion Judaism, the second Monotheistic religion. Check out the slides and videos below to see what we did!
THURSDAY - September 1, 2011
GEOGRAPHY:
Hey there! So, today in geography, we shared our "inventions" to help clean up Atlanta. If you'd like to check some of them out, see the pictures below! Also, we discussed some of the technologies that are in place in the world today to clean pollution problems. Please check out the two videos we watched in class (below) to see how some major pollution issues were dealt with. One of them is not as successful as the other. And, actually, neither of them has "great" results, yet...
WORLD HISTORY:
Hey there! So, today in world history, we finished sharing about our beliefs about the afterlife. After this, we started to learn about our FIRST Monotheistic Religion (remember that "Monotheistic" means to believe in ONE god!) Please see the slides below on this religion, called ZOROASTRIANISM. And remember, if you can pronounce it, you get a small reward!!!
WEDNESDAY - August 31, 2011
GEOGRAPHY:
Hello! So, today in geography, we continued with our Essential Question, which is "How do humans interact with the environment?" To do this, we talked a lot about some of the major environmental issues in the world. We also talked about Atlanta's MAJOR air pollution issues. Today's assignment was to invent a system to solve Atlanta's air pollution problems. We will share these tomorrow!
WORLD HISTORY:
Hello! Today, in world history, we're starting one of MY favorite units: Monotheism. So, if you were absent, please click on the link here to download and answer the questionnaire on YOUR thoughts on your "afterlife" that we did in class. After answering this questionnaire, we discussed each question in class. This turned out to be an awesome day with some really intense talking and discussion. Hope you have a great afternoon!
